Description
The Amalfi Coast Lemon PGI is a fresh citrus fruit belonging to the species Citrus limon L., variety Sfusato Amalfitano.
It is obtained from a type of terraced cultivation, the structure of which makes it suitable for cultivation on particularly sloping land.
The Costa d’Amalfi PGI lemon is characterised by its elliptical and tapered shape. The peel is citrine yellow in colour and medium thick, separated from the flesh by a white, spongy layer, and is characterised by an intense, aromatic fragrance due to the presence of essential oils. The flesh is straw yellow in colour and seedless, abundant juice with high acidity and a very intense aroma and scent.
