Description
The Sorrento tomato, a traditional cultivation of all the municipalities along the coast and in particular Sant’Agnello and Piano, is a large tomato with a rounded shape: it is particularly ribbed, and light red in colour tending to pink with green hues when picked.
Today the Sorrento tomato is widely used in local cuisine, especially raw, as an ingredient in tasty summer salads, first and foremost the famous ‘caprese’, in which it is accompanied by basil oil and buffalo mozzarella.
